Hi, I'm Lynn Buchanan. My goal as Catalina 22 National Rear Commodore will be to build Catalina 22 National membership, by working with Regions and Fleets and Catalina 22 sailors wanting to start a fleet. It only takes three memberships to start a fleet. I'm looking forward to talking and meeting as many Catalina 22 sailors as possible.

I began sailing in 1985 in central California. Since then I owned and skippered various keel and small sailboats, but the Catalina 22 became my favorite sailboat. I currently sail a 1990 wing keel #15092, SAILYNN.

For 35 years I raced and crewed in San Francisco Bay, San Diego Bay, Lake Tahoe, Clear Lake, Folsom Lake, Whiskeytown Lake, Lake Yosemite, the Delta tributaries in California, and Lake Pleasant and Tempe Towne Lake, Arizona. I made several cruises to Catalina Island, and trailer-sailed in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. I participated in five Catalina 22 National Championship events over my 35 years of sailing and owned over six Catalina 22's during that time.

Over two decades ago I developed the Gold Country Yacht Club Education/Sailing Program for junior and adult dinghy sailing at Scotts Flat Lake, California, home of three Catalina National Championship Regattas. I'm a certified US Sailing Keel Boat and Small Boat Instructor, and certified ASA Keelboat Instructor. My husband Dale and I are retired and live on Banner Mountain, in Nevada City, California. We split our year between Lake Pleasant, Peoria, Arizona in the cooler months as "Snowbirds" and leave for sailing back home at Scotts Flat Lake in California after it gets hot in Arizona.

Feel free to call, text or message me if you have questions about increasing your fleet membership or want to start or resurrect an old fleet. I want to help.

Lynn Buchanan
